PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent destruction of an electro-optic device by static electricity in a monitoring circuit. SOLUTION: The electro-optic device has the monitoring circuit which is formed on a peripheral area on a substrate by simulating at least one of a plurality of stages of a data line drive circuit and generates a monitoring signal for indirectly monitoring output timing of an image signal at the simulated stage, a monitoring terminal for outputting the monitoring signal output from the monitoring circuit to an external circuit and a resistive element electrically connected between the monitoring terminal and the monitoring circuit.
