PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a remote controller acting like a unit for controlling an apparatus for carrying out photographing. SOLUTION: The remote controller 100 includes: a camera 110; a drive circuit 200 for receiving an input of a signal outputted from the camera 110; an operation section 140 for externally receiving the input of an instruction; a light receiving section 120 for receiving the input of an optical signal; a control circuit 210 for generating a signal whereby the remote controller 100 performs a predetermined process on the basis of data or a command externally received; a memory 220 capable of writing and reading data; a display apparatus 102 for displaying an image on the basis of a signal generated by the control circuit 210; and a signal output section 160 for outputting the signal generated by the control circuit 210.
