PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication system, capable of reducing an unnecessary leakage electric field caused from a power line by preventing unwanted signals from propagating to the power supply side of the power line. SOLUTION: Magnetic coupling circuits 55, connected to master MODEMs 5, are provided to the part of power lines P11, P12 branched by a distribution board 2a and closer to the distribution board 2a; slave MODEMs 6, 6, ... are connected to the part of the power lines P11, P12 that is more remote from the distribution board 2a than from the magnetic coupling circuits 55; and capacitors 8 are respectively connected in the power lines P11, P12 between the distribution board 2a and the magnetic coupling circuits 55 shunted with each other, to bypass signals transmitted/received between the master MODEMs 5 and the slave MODEMs 6, 6, ... by the capacitors 8.
