摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrooptical device capable of having a dynamic range exceeding the performance of an electrooptical panel itself by compensating display performance by a lighting mode. SOLUTION: The electrooptical device 100 is equipped with the electrooptical panel 130 having a plurality of pixels 130p arrayed, a lighting device 11 which has a plurality of divided lighting areas 110a lighting the electrooptical panel and can have luminances set by the lighting areas, an electrooptical panel control means of performing control of display over the plurality of pixels of the electrooptical panel based upon input data, a lighting setting means of setting luminances or values corresponding thereto by the lighting areas according to input data to pixel groups of the electrooptical panel corresponding to the lighting areas, and a lighting control means of controlling the respective lighting areas of the lighting device according to the values set by the lighting setting means.
