PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a process for production of a nitrile terpolymer with low Mooney viscosity. SOLUTION: The process for the production of the optionally hydrogenated nitrile terpolymer having a lower molecular weight, a lower Mooney viscosity and a lower molecular weight distribution than those known in the art. The optionally hydrogenated nitrile terpolymer having the lower molecular weight, the lower Mooney viscosity and the lower molecular weight distribution than those known in the art is also provided.
