A light-emitting device comprises a body (1) having a heat-dissipating base (5) on one side and many light-emitting elements (3) on a circuit board with connecting current leads passing though the heat-dissipating base. Heat and electricity are separated and device reliability increased. Preferably the heat-dissipating base is metallic.
