The converter has a digital signal input (11) for supplying a digital word with a word length. A noise shaper (1) is coupled to the input and is designed to convert the digital word into another digital word having another word length. A filtering device (2) is coupled to an output of the noise shaper and is designed to reject radio-frequency signal components in the latter digital word. A conversion device (3) is connected to an output of the filtering device and converts the latter digital word into an analog signal. An independent claim is also included for a method of digital to analog conversion.
