Disclosed is a method for verifying the reliability of an amino acid sequence of a peptide. The method comprises the steps of comparing an estimate log k<SUB>0</SUB> value of a peptide of interest with a found log k<SUB>0</SUB> value of the peptide and verifying the reliability of the deduced amino acid sequence based on the difference in the comparison, wherein an estimate log k<SUB>0</SUB> value means an estimate value of log k<SUB>0</SUB> which is a measure of the retention of the peptide and is calculated based on a deduced amino acid sequence of the peptide, and a found log k<SUB>0</SUB> value is calculated based on the LC retention time.
