Anterior and posterior drive trains, coupled to an articulated structure via connecting rods, are relatively displaceable with respect to a central body. The drive trains convert the articulated structure between wheelchair and bed modes, by moving in opposing directions relative to the central body. The articulated structure consists of a backrest, a seat, and a leg rest.
