<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simply detect irregular pressure of fuel in high pressure feed pump suction side without directly monitoring pressure of fuel in the high pressure feed pump suction side in a fuel injection device having a low pressure feed pump separately from the high pressure feed pump. <P>SOLUTION: Rail pressure has positive correlation with fuel retention force in a suction side of the high pressure feed pump (namely, fuel pressure in the high pressure feed pump suction side) when an engine is stopped and SCV opening is controlled to roughly meet a predetermined value. Rail pressure, therefore, is monitored by a control means of the fuel injection device when the engine stops and SCV valve opening is controlled to roughly meet the predetermined value and the low pressure feed pump operates. Consequently, irregular pressure of fuel in the high pressure feed pump suction side can be easily detected without directly monitoring pressure of fuel in the high pressure feed pump suction side. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
