<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce transmission characteristic variations of a node passing signal. <P>SOLUTION: An optical ADM apparatus comprises a Mach-Zehnder interferometer 303 which inputs a wavelength multiplexed signal multiplexing wavelengths of a plurality of inverted RZ optical signals of different wavelengths and outputs an RZ signal and a band suppressed inverted RZ optical signal. A free spectrum range of the Mach-Zehnder interferometer is an integer multiple or semi-integer multiple of a channel frequency interval of the wavelength multiplexed signal, and an occupation band of the RZ optical signal is approximately twice as large as an occupation area of the band suppressed inverted RZ optical signal. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
