A bill receiving machine is provided to keep an opening/closing tool closed except for the reception of bills, by covering a lower unit receiving the bills with a coating member in a safe form by installing a security shutter on the upper part of a bill receiving part. A bill receiving machine for keeping bills inserted through a bill input port(22) in a bill storage part includes a temporal keeping part(41) temporally piling the bills in a keeping tray; the bill storage part receiving the bills piled in the temporal keeping part through an opening part and having a bill storage part shutter(65) installed on the opening part; and a security shutter(71) and a control unit dividing the temporal keeping part and the bill storage part. The control unit opens the keeping tray, the bill storage part shutter, and the security shutter in inserting the bills piled in the temporal keeping part into the bill storage part.
