<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a special key for fingerprint collation devices that enables alternative registration authentication without using human fingerprints when the fingerprint collation devices are used. <P>SOLUTION: The special key 1 for fingerprint collation devices is used for fingerprint collation devices of the electrostatic sensitive type and the slide type, both of which use capacitance type line sensors for their fingerprint collation sensor parts. The special key has a structure in which a special key structure part 12 in place of fingerprints and a cleaning part 13 for cleaning the fingerprint collation sensor part 21 are arranged on the surface 11a of a relatively hard sheet-shaped member 11.
