PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To generate many more parallaxes without degrading resolution and image quality.

SOLUTION: The aperture ratio of a light source 140 is determined as 1/N and a liquid lens 124-1 and liquid lens 124-2 are arranged apart a focal length of the liquid lens 124-1 and the liquid lens 124-2 from the light source 140. A position controller fluctuates the position of a non-polar liquid by as much as the size component of each pixel as shown by the liquid lens 124-1 and the liquid lens 124-2, and thereby the exit light of the light emitting pixels 141 to the light emitting pixels 143 emitted through the liquid lens 124-1 or the liquid lens 124-2 and is emitted to directions different from each other as shown by the light 151 to 156. The invention is applicable to the parallax image display device.
