<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable an electronic device to normally shift to an energy-saving mode even if the electronic device is reset by a drop in source voltage when the electronic device starts a power-saving mode. <P>SOLUTION: When a power-saving mode is received, a power-saving flag F is set in a storage-retaining memory 13, and an operation for clearing the power-saving mode is executed after the power-saving flag is started.
