PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a socket device of a learning desk having a switch for an illumination located near to a user when the user is small and does not need a large number of sockets and capable of providing a wide space on the desk with providing a large number of sockets installed to the rear end side of the top plate and available from the front side when the user of a higher grade becomes tall and can operate the switch of the light directly and frequently uses a personal computer or the like. SOLUTION: The socket device comprises a fixing member to be attachably/detachably fixed onto the top board of the desk and a socket box fixable to the fixing member. The box is selectably held in the fixing member in a state in longer-length use where the longitudinal side of the box rests in a depth direction of the top board or in a state in longer-breadth use where the longitudinal side rests in the breadthwise direction of the top board. Two or more sockets are provided in the longitudinal direction of the box. In the longitudinal use, the switch of the light is provided on the end of the user side of the desk.
