PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To execute chromatic aberration correction of an image picked up through an optical system. SOLUTION: A control apparatus 111 matches MTF (modulation transfer function) characteristics between each of color components, by correcting color information of a color component having a low MTF characteristic using color information of a color component having a high MTF characteristic, in an image having unmatched MTF characteristics between color components and generated due to focal point deviation between color components in an optical axis direction.
