PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lead accumulator which can discharge large electric current and has a long life. SOLUTION: The lead accumulator for hybrid car which uses metal lead as a negative electrode of metal lead, lead peroxide as a positive electrode, and dilute sulfuric acid as an electrolyte, comprises organic polymer which raises hydrogen overvoltage of the negative electrode when the accumulator is charged.
