PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a door lock system capable of preventing scale of a system required for door opening and closing operation from becoming large, preventing the time required by the door opening and closing operation from being prolonged, and coping with loss of a portable terminal unit being a substitute for a key. SOLUTION: Certification information for a user is stored in a door locking device 4 and user's cellular phone 2 in advance, the certification information for the user is transmitted to the door locking device 4 from an infrared communication device provided in the cellular phone 2, and the certification information for the user transmitted from the cellular phone 2 is compared with the certification information for the user stored in the door locking device 4 to release door locking by an electric lock 22 only when both of the certification information coincide. Furthermore, this door locking system prevents door locking from being released by use of the stolen cellular phone 2 when the user loses the cellular phone 2 held by the user by permitting rewriting of the certification information for the user based on the determination of the coincidence of the certification information for the user.
