ELICITATION OF ANTIBODIES TO SELF PEPTIDES BY IMMUNIZATION WITH DENDRITIC CELLS

Antibodies are produce by inoculating a host animal with dendritic cells in combination with a self peptide of interest. In one embodiment, antibodies are produce by incubating the dendritic cells with a self peptide of interest to form an immunogen, incubating B cells from an animal of a same or different species with a peptide homologous to the self peptide of interest, and immunizing the animal with the immunogen and loaded B cell. The self peptide of interest may be provided either as a recombinat protein, or in its native form (e,g., as appearing in the lysate of cells expressing such self peptides, or as the plasma membrane of cells expressing such membrane self peptides).
