A base plate for manufacturing the front frame of spectacles having a bridge formed between right and left side lens eyewires and enabling its shape to be stably maintained over a long period. A bridge forming part (3) is formed between right and left side lens eyewire forming parts (2, 2). The lens eyewires to which lenses are fitted are formed by cutting the lens eyewire forming parts (2) to specified shapes, and the bridge connecting the right and left side eyewires to each other is formed by cutting the bridge forming part (3) to a specified shape. The front faces of the lens eyewire forming parts (2) comprise protruded spherical surfaces matching the convex surfaces of the lenses, and the rear faces of the lens eyewire forming parts (2) comprise recessed spherical surfaces matching the concave surfaces of the lenses.
