A method for detecting a spare tire of a TPMS(Tire Pressure Monitoring System) for alarming a driver when the inflation pressure within the tire is below 40KPH by using a pressure sensor and the deviation of the RF(Radio Frequency) signals. A method for detecting a spare tire of a TPMS(Tire Pressure Monitoring System) is composed of a step of starting an engine; a step of allowing a pressure sensor installed on a wheel rim to transmit the RF(Radio Frequency) signal to a TPMS receiver; a step of classing the rolling status of the tire through the CPU if the RF signal transmitted by the TPMS receiver to the CPU is greater than a maximum deviation of 5V; a step of sending a flag to the TPMS receiver from an acceleration sensor installed in the pressure sensor if the RF signal transmitted by the TPMS receiver to the CPU is less than the maximum deviation of 5V, and the actual speed of the car is greater than 40KPH; and a step of allowing the CPU to classify the status of the tire is in the spare position if the flag sent by the acceleration sensor to the TPMS receiver is low.
