[Class 83 (iii)] A socket comprises one or more coil springs 3 through which the tool is adapted to be passed, the spring or springs each being secured at one end to the socket body 1 and at the other end to a sleeve 4 rotatably mounted on the socket body, the spring or springs being so arranged that the socket is self-tightening while rotation of the sleeve relatively to the socket body to uncoil the spring or springs enables the tool to be inserted or removed. |
