A mobile communication terminal having a data managing function using tag information and an operating method thereof are provided to automatically classify and store multimedia data according to inputted tag information and search the data by tag information according to an inputted keyword, thereby more quickly searching desired data without operating plural buttons and increasing the convenience of a user. A mobile communication terminal having a data managing function using tag information comprises the followings: a memory(20) storing multimedia data; and a controller(10) making inputted tag information stored together with the multimedia data when the multimedia data is stored, and searches and outputs the multimedia data according to the stored tag information. The controller(10) comprises the followings: a setting unit(11) classifying data according to the inputted tag information when the multimedia data is stored; a determining unit(12); and a data processor(13) searching tag information including an inputted keyword by reading tag information of the multimedia data.
