A system for transacting with a trading application includes an interface operable to receive an order message from a short message service component. The order message comprises a first short message comprising order information converted into a second format. The order information relates to an order for a trading system. A trading application coupled to the interface processes the order information and transmits order processing information in the second format to the short message service component to be converted into a second short message comprising the order processing information.
