<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lighting device capable of spreading a light emitted from a light emitting diode at a wider angle without complicating the component allocations. <P>SOLUTION: In a lighting device 1, many light emitting diodes 15a are lined up in a longitudinal direction at the bottom side of a central plate 3 on a main lighting device body 2 which has a U-shaped cross section with an open end at one side. A pair of opposing inner side surfaces 6 on both side ends 4 extending downwards from the central plate 3 are composed of a pair of reflecting surfaces 8, each of which is inclined in a direction with the distance between them widen toward free ends on both side ends 4.
