<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic opening/closing device for a vehicle which protects a portion to be detected from foreign matters and enables reduction of a size. <P>SOLUTION: The automatic opening/closing device 13 for the vehicle which automatically opens/closes a slide door to be an opening/closing body has a drum 20 which is rotatably stored inside a storage case 21 and is rotated by an electric motor and cables 15, 16 which are provided between a power transmitting part 25 of the drum 20 and the slide door and transmit power of the drum 20 to the slide door. A disc member 44 with a magnet 40 at the outer periphery is incorporated in a recessed storage part 41 formed at one end in an axial direction of the drum 20.
