PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a means for producing a raw material of compost capable of composting in a short period of time. SOLUTION: This method for producing the raw material of compost comprises following steps: a first step of watering and agitating an object to be composted; a second step of adding woody fibers to the substance subjected to watering and agitating, and agitating the mixture; a third step of adding a polymer floccullant to the substance subjected to woody fiber addition and agitation, and agitating the mixture; and a fourth step of squeezing and dewatering the substance subjected to polymer flocculant addition and agitation.
