<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a packet network by a layer 2 switch which can be configured while reducing replace from existing apparatus and in which path redundancy can be switched in a short time. <P>SOLUTION: Poststage layer switches 12<SB>1</SB>and 12<SB>2</SB>are connected, respectively, with an operation path and a standby path constituting redundancy. Prestage layer switches 13<SB>1</SB>and 13<SB>2</SB>are connected with both the operation path and the standby path and can transmit/receive a packet to/from the poststage layer switch 12<SB>1</SB>connected with the operation path and the poststage layer switch 12<SB>2</SB>connected with the standby path. The prestage layer switches 13<SB>1</SB>and 13<SB>2</SB>are normally transmitting/receiving a packet on the operation path and monitoring the operation path, and switch transmission/reception of packet to the standby path when failure of the operation path is detected. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT</p> |
