PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical cable in which a PMD (Polarization Mode Dispersion) caused in a coated optical fiber through various factors is surely suppressed. SOLUTION: In the optical cable 20 of the present invention; in the groove 24 of SZ-twist spacers 22, there is stored a tape stack 32 in which coated optical fiber tapes 29 are stacked, in such a twisted manner that the twisting direction is periodically changed in the longitudinal direction. Also, the groove 24 is formed in a locus following a function put together with SZ loca comprising sine curves of a short and a long period.
