PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a damping device having superior damping performance, less installation site constraints and good handling property. SOLUTION: Using as a damping material 3 transpolyisoprene having a tensile yield stress of 5MPa or more and a breaking elongation of 150% or more, the damping device 1 is formed by firmly adhering and fixing mounting plates 2, 2 to both ends of the damping material 3 into one unit. It allows great shearing deformation while developing damping performance equivalent to that of lead, and it is installed at a desired site requiring damping. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
