PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dust collector having an inexpensive structure and automatically brushing dust on a primary filter off uniformly and efficiently. SOLUTION: There is provided the dust collector 1 in which a bag-shape prefilter 15 is mounted on an upper opening of a tank 2 of the dust collector 1, a powder filter 17 that protrudes inside the prefilter 15 to separate between a main body 4 and a suction tube 13 is mounted on the upper opening of the tank 2 inside the prefilter 15, a damper 22, a plate sponge, is interposed between the prefilter 15 and the powder filter 17 so as to cover an inside surface of the prefilter 15 over its entire circumference, and dust adhered to the prefilter 15 can be brushed off by contracting/restoring action of the prefilter 15 and the damper 22 accompanying operation/shutdown.
