PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a synthetic absorbent multifilament suture to be placed in vivo for a long term with reinforced antibacterial force, and to provide a simple and inexpensive method for imparting an antibacterial agent to the suture, which provides protection against bacteria for a long term. SOLUTION: The method includes: a process for providing the multifilament suture; a process for impenetrating the multifilament suturean to antibacterial solution ; and a process for performing antibacterial coating on at least a part of the surface of the impenetration multifilament suture.
