摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an anode for biological power generation formed by fixing electron transmitting media on a surface of the anode in high density, while maintaining a redox-activity in aqueous solution and to provide a property making a standard electrode voltage (E<SB>0</SB>')range between -0.13 V and -0.28 V at pH7, and a method and a device for biological power generation utilizing the same. SOLUTION: The biological power generating device is constituted by an anaerobic area 4 including the anode on which the electron transmitting media (electron mediator) is fixed by polymerization, a membrane (electrolyte membrane) 2, and an aerobic area 5 including a porous cathode 3 forming a threefold cylindrical body. Solution or suspension of microorganisms capable of growing under anaerobic condition is made to flow through the anaerobic area 4 as an innermost separation space form of the cylindrical body, and the air containing molecular oxygen is made to exist in the aerobic area 5 as an outermost separation space form of the cylindrical body. At least one part of the cathode arranged in the aerobic area 5 is formed by a conductive porous material, mesh-shaped material, or fibrous material having pores in its structure.
