PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that the sum total of power consumption exceeds a specified value when new power consumptions are required for an apparatus connected to a network in a conventional controller, and to provide a method for controlling the apparatus using the controller. SOLUTION: In the method for controlling a plurality of the apparatuses through the network respectively, a plurality of waveform data of consumption predetermined powers based on each operation schedule of a plurality of the apparatuses are transmitted and received, and the peak power of the waveform data obtained by adding a plurality of the waveform data and the specified value are compared. In the method, a schedule change is decided on the basis of the comparison, either of a plurality of the waveform data is altered on the basis of the decision of the schedule change, and a plurality of the apparatuses are controlled so that the sum total of the consumption scheduled powers of a plurality of the apparatuses is lower than the specified value by scheduling the operations of a plurality of the apparatuses again.
