PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high reliability display apparatus capable of being made low in profile without decreasing manufacturing yield. SOLUTION: The display apparatus is provided with: a display panel 100 with an effective display part constituted of a plurality of display pixels; a flexible wiring board 142 connected to a peripheral part located outside of the effective display part on the surface of the display panel 100; a driving IC chip 141 which is located in the peripheral part on the display surface of the display panel 100 and outputs a driving signal to drive each display pixel on the effective display part; a resin coat 160 applied to a gap between the display panel 100 and the flexible wiring board 142; and a light shielding tape 150 which is located on the rear face of the display panel 100 and shades an area corresponding to the position of the driving chip IC arrangement.
