PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus capable of quickly and surely performing a diaphragm control, especially, setting the reference position of a drive in a short period of time. SOLUTION: A memory 52 stores end information indicating whether a motor 30 has normally performed an ending operation in a direction of opening a diaphragm 40 in the case of turning off the main power source 100 of a camera 1. Further, regarding a constitution including a driver 20 and a diaphragm control part 11, when the main power source 100 of the camera 1 is turned on in such a situation that the memory 52 stores the normal end information, the motor 30 is driven only by a first driving quantity in the direction of opening the diaphragm 40, on the other hand, in such the situation that the memory 52 stores abnormal end information or the memory 52 does not store the end information, the motor 30 is driven only by a second driving quantity larger than the first driving quantity in the direction of opening the diaphragm 40.
