PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus, wherein proper transfer is constantly performed independently of environments and electrostatic offset is not caused. SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus is constituted so that a developer image on an image carrier is transferred onto a transfer material by a transfer member having a bias applied thereto and then the transfer material is held and carried between a heat fixing member and a pressure member to fix a developer onto the transfer material, wherein a length between a position where the developer is transferred onto the transfer material and a position where the developer is fixed onto the transfer material is shorter than lengths of transfer materials which the image forming apparatus can supply, and at least one of a heating member and the pressure member is made approximately conductive, and approximately conductive one of the heating member and the pressure member is capable of switching to connection or non-connection to an enclosure earth of the image forming apparatus in accordance with a prescribed condition.
