PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical connector in which no shield member falls off, and a ferrule and the shield member do not come in contact with each other when an optical connector plug is fitted to an optical connector adaptor to prevent the ferrule from being damaged or scratched. SOLUTION: The optical connector including adaptors 20 is provided with a housing 11 for housing and holding an optical fiber 30 and with the shield member having a main body 10 for shielding the optical axis of the optical fiber 30. The shield member 7 is held freely rotatably in the housing 11, with the main body 10 designed to form a plurality of different angles by bending in multiple places. The shield member 7 is provided with a beam part 2 that constantly energizes the main body 10 in the direction crossing the connecting direction with the other connector. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
