PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem, in cases where gas comes in a box housing separately-packaged commodities, due to gas leakage from a packaging device placed close to a leak inspection device, that wrong determination is made by presuming the leakage, as a leakage from a package due to defective sealing. SOLUTION: Gas in a depressurized container 2, having passed through a gas intake tube 10 and surrounding air having passed via an air intake tube 13, can be selectively introduced by three-way selector valve 11 into a gas detector 15. The concentration of a specific gas in the surrounding air is measured between leak inspections. An inspection situation determination part 18, when it determines that the concentration has become high to such a degree that would hinder accurate leak inspection, issues an alarm part 19 to inform workers of anomaly.
