PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wick up-and-down type oil stove preventing continuation of combustion that generates odor by activating an earthquake breaker to carry out automatic extinction when fuel oil in a cartridge tank is gone. SOLUTION: The wick up-and-down type oil stove is provided with a wick up-and-down means for vertically moving a wick 12 provided so it can vertically move in fuel tank 19, a spring 48 energizing a raised wick 12 in a downward direction, a lock fitting 52 holding the wick 12 in a raised position against spring force of the spring 48, the earthquake breaker 14 releasing the lock fitting 52 to lower the wick 12 in an emergency such as an earthquake, and the cartridge tank 10 having a pin 23 provided in an oil supply opening 22 of the fuel tank 19, inserted in a valve element 25 of a mouthpiece 26, and supplying fuel oil to the fuel tank 19. Since the weight of the cartridge tank 10 is detected, and the earthquake breaker 14 is activated when the fuel oil is gone to carry out extinction, the wick up-and-down type oil stove that can be safely and reliably used can be provided.
