PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for checking tension resistance of a buried anchor. SOLUTION: In the tension-resistance checking method, a driving oil pressure value of a hydraulic motor for rotating the anchor is read after every lapse of a given time from the start of the entry of the anchor into ground to the completion thereof; a hydraulic-motor revolution oil-pressure area is determined and integrated on the basis of the read driving oil pressure value; the tension resistance is calculated from the integrated value; the calculated value is compared with a reference value of the tension resistance required for the anchor; and it is determined that the required tension resistance is secured, when the calculated value is equal to/exceeds the reference value. The tension-resistance checking apparatus comprises: an oil-pressure measuring means; a clocking means; a computing means which integrates an oil pressure area from an oil pressure-measured value acquired from the oil-pressure measuring means after every lapse of a unit time from the start of the increase of the oil pressure-measured value to the completion of the entry, and which compares the calculated value with the reference value required for the anchor; and a display means for displaying the result of computing.
