PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To harden a material such as the ground and a porous material by applying the electrochemical principle. SOLUTION: This material hardening device is provided with an anode 11 for supplying cations 2 into a material 4, a cathode 12 for supplying anions 3 into the material 4, and power supply 1 for applying voltage between the anode 11 and the cathode 12 to harden the material 4 by applying voltage between the anode 11 and the cathode 12, supplying the cations 2 and the anions 3 into the material 4, and bonding them in the material 4 to harden the material 4.
