PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cross-linked polymer particle which is used for fixing ligands, is inexpensive, and has high safety, large mechanical strength and good water dispersibility, to provide a ligand-bound polymer particle, and to provide an affinity purification method using the same. SOLUTION: This cross-linked polymer particle for fixing ligands, which is a cross-linked polymer particle having functional groups capable of fixing the ligands, is characterized in that the cross-linked polymer particle is a polymer of a (meth)acrylate and/or styrenic monomer, and the diameter d1 of the cross-linked polymer particle in a silicone oil and the diameter d2 in a phosphate buffer physiological salt solution satisfy an expression (1): 0.95<d2/d1<1.15.
