PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water-based stainproofing agent having nearly neutral nature, free from agglomeration tendency, enabling easy spray coating and developed based on a new conception to prevent the penetration of stain into a material without inhibiting the adhesion of stain, and remove the adhering stain together with a coating layer simply by lightly wiping the surface taking advantage of the cleavage of mica. SOLUTION: Smectite and fine powder of mica containing sericite are dispersed in pure water, an aqueous dispersion emulsion of a reactive dimethylsiloxane is added thereto, the mixture is stirred with a dispersion mixer at 1,000 rpm for 5 min while preventing the foaming of the dispersion to form an extremely thin silicone film on the surface of the sericite fine particle and obtain the water-based stainproofing agent containing a component exhibiting water repellency and bonding by reacting with the surface of the substrate. When the water-based stainproofing agent is applied to a half of the surface of a tile and soy sauce and sauce are dropped to the coated surface and the uncoated surface after drying the applied agent, the soy sauce and sauce are not impregnated to the surface coated with the water-based stainproofing agent in contrast with the untreated surface impregnated with the soy sauce and sauce, and the soy sauce, etc., on the coated surface is completely removed without leaving a trace by lightly wiping with a tissue paper.
