<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus that is less likely to generate printing fogging, by preventing frictional charging in a state in which a small amount of new toner is mixed in a place where a large amount of deteriorated old toner exists. <P>SOLUTION: Toner-empty state is detected (S1: Y), and a cover is opened, in response to replacement of a toner cartridge (S6: Y), when the cover is then closed (S7: Y), it is assumed that a new toner cartridge is mounted by the user, and the processing proceeds to S8. In S8, a processing for driving an agitator and an auger is executed for a prescribed period time, while stopping a developing roller and a supply roller. By this processing, the old toner remaining on a developing cartridge and the new toner, accommodated in the toner cartridge, are circulated each other, and the both are mixed without causing frictional charging of the toners. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
