<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color ink-jet printer in which the accuracy of printing is easily verified. <P>SOLUTION: The color ink-jet printer, which comprises a head part 10 provided with a plurality of color ink-jet recording heads 12, controls the movement of the head part 10 in the main scanning direction and the movement of a recording medium in the sub-scanning direction by the control of a controller 26 to print an image on the recording medium. The controller 26 comprises a control means to print a test print pattern on the recording medium. The test print pattern printed on the recording medium by the controlling means comprises a plurality of lines in the main scanning direction, each line having the same regularly repeated pattern obtained by combining color dots. The pattern of a lower line corresponding to that of an upper is shifted by at least one dot.
