<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a file display/search technique for facilitating a search for a desired file by expressing files that consist of a plurality of hierarchies as a rotating table metaphor for each hierarchy, and displaying the contents of the hierarchies at the same time. <P>SOLUTION: The method for displaying files registered in a hierarchical structure includes arraying and setting the icons or character strings of a plurality of folders/files for search on a disk-shaped rotating table for each hierarchy, displaying a portion of the rotating table in a display area on each side of a display screen in hierarchy units, urging a user to select and input either of the icons or character strings displayed, and displaying the content of the selected folder as the next hierarchy while at the same time displaying the contents of subsequent folders of lower hierarchies in association based on predetermined conditions. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT</p> |
