<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pigment dispersion having excellent dispersibility, flowability, storage stability, resolubility after drying and substrate adhesiveness. <P>SOLUTION: This pigment composition comprises a pigment, a basic functional group-containing organic pigment derivative represented by the general formula (1): P-[X<SB>1</SB>-(CH<SB>2</SB>)<SB>m</SB>-N(R<SB>1</SB>, R<SB>2</SB>)]<SB>n</SB>, and a phosphate represented by the general formula (2): (HO)<SB>3-y</SB>-P(=O)-(OR<SB>3</SB>)<SB>y</SB>. In the general formula (1), P is an organic pigment residue, X<SB>1</SB>is a divalent connection group selected from-CH<SB>2</SB>NH-, -SO<SB>2</SB>NH-, -CH<SB>2</SB>NHCO-, -CH<SB>2</SB>NHCOCH<SB>2</SB>NH-, and -CONH-; R<SB>1</SB>, R<SB>2</SB>are each independently H, an alkyl or aryl which may have one or more substituents, or R<SB>1</SB>, R<SB>2</SB>form a heterocyclic group which may contain a nitrogen atom or oxygen atom; (m) is 1 to 4; (n) is 1 to 4.
