PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect and remove viruses with high performance when an operation system in which general-purpose anti-virus software does not work is installed. SOLUTION: A POS terminal device determines whether or not a file in a file format that is not a prescribed file format is stored in a HDD and a RAM, for the HDD and RAM to store commodity sales data in a preset and prescribed file format therein, on the basis of monitor setting to monitor whether or not the file in a file format that is not the prescribed file format is stored at prescribed timing, and if it is determined that the file in the file format that is not the prescribed file format is stored therein, the device deletes the file in the file format that is not the prescribed file format.
